Ren Xinyue is a member of the Chinese Percussion Society under the auspices of the Chinese Musicians’ Association, and a member of the Percussion Professional Committee of the China Nationalities Orchestra Society. She is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in percussion at the China Conservatory of Music under the supervision of Professor Wang Yidong and Associate Professor Wang Jun. In June 2017, she was awarded the title “An Outstanding Graduate of Beijing City”.
Some of her major awards include Champion at the Future King of Drums Tournament of the 16th Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition (2018).She was shortlisted for the Gold Prize of ‘the Sixth Showcase of the Pedagogical Results of Chinese Instrumental Music Education for Youths in China’; a third prize in the Marimba Section of the first Japan International Percussion Contest as part of the Asian Percussion Festival (2017); Gold Prizes in the
dagu,
paigu and ensemble categories at the Macao International Drum Festival (2016); Bronze Prizes in the Youth Specialism A Section and the Ensemble Section of the International Chinese Percussion Arts Festival and Competition held in Singapore (2014); and an Outstanding Award – Other Categories Section at the CCTV ‘Xinghuacun Fen Chiew Cup’ Ethnic Instrumental Music Competition (2012).
Ren’s recent performances include as lead player in the opening concert of the Global Music Education League – China International Music Competition in 2019, and as soloist performing
Eight Sounds Resonating at the 2018 International Percussion Festival at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing.
