A truly exceptional vocalist, actress, composer, and lyricist who is adored by fans for her unique performance style and sweet voice, Bianca Wu has been acclaimed by the media and audiences as the “Queen of Pop Jazz”.
During her time as a student in the US, Bianca attended the New York Film Academy, Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts, and the Broadway Dance Center, and studied jazz under respected jazz masters Barry Harris and Harry Whitaker. Bianca spent several years honing her dance technique under international Latin dance masters Eugene Katsevman and Maria Manusova. The 2010 album Jazz Them Up, which used jazz elements to reinterpret classic hits by the “Four Heavenly Kings of Hong Kong” (Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Leon Lai and Aaron Kwok), achieved record sales for Hong Kong’s popular jazz scene. Since her debut, Bianca has released 16 albums, all of which sold well.
In recent years, Bianca has joined with New York jazz artists in giving several riveting solo performances of her work in Hong Kong, including
‘Bianca Live’ in 2010, ‘Nice & Easy’ in 2012, ‘Body N’ Soul’ in 2015, and ‘Shining Moment’ in 2018.
Bianca also appeared in several musicals, and has played the lead role in several productions, including Lamusical: The Music of George Lam, Long Live the Chairman, The Storm Show, Oath Under the Trees and The Wizard of Oz.
