Bao Bi Da

Maestro Bao Bi Da is a record producer, music director, composer, arranger, conductor and musician performer. Started his music career in Hong
Kong in 1970s, he has written 8 musicals, 2 Ballets, and many music works for TV dramas and movies. With versatile ability in music, he has been referred to as the Godfather of pop and cross-over music.


He has collaborated with many famous pop singers in Hong Kong and Taiwan, such as Francis Yip, Paula Tsui, Leslie Cheung, Alan Tam, Danny Chan, George Lam, Sally Yeh, Cai Qin, CoCo Lee and many more. He has composed scores for over 50 films and TV series. The theme song for the 1993 movie C'est la vie, mon chéri (also known as New Everlasting Love), sang by Wan Fang, is considered to be one of the most popular songs in the history of Taiwan and also the Chinese popular songs’ category, and is now being his signature tune. Fleeing By Night won him the ‘Best Music’ in the 46th Asia Pacific Film Festival in 2001. 


He was also invited to be the Music Director of Hong Kong 1997 Handover HKSAR Ceremony and the Music Director of CCTV from 2017 to 2020. In 2008, he wrote the Beijing Olympics Official ‘Torch Song’ – Light the Passion, Share the Dream. In 2022, Maestro Bao Bi Da received an Honourable Award at the Hong Kong Gold Songs Award Presentation Ceremony 2021/2022 (organised jointly by TVB and RTHK) for his contribution in Hong Kong music industry.
