Union

This concert fuses together contrasting elements under the theme, Union. Eighteen Variations on a Hu Pipe Melody marries the classical rendition of the qin and the zheng with contemporary orchestral arrangements. A dialogue between the Chinese yangqin and the Turkish kanun, as well as Cantonese Opera and Jazz music, are also included.
