To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Chinese Music Clips 40s is calling creative minds under the age of 40 from all over the world to enter this short digital video competition with clips under forty seconds, exhibiting the unique charm of Chinese music.


General Rules
1Entrants must guarantee that their entries have neither been openly shown, published or broadcast in any forms or through any channels, nor have they been involved in other commercial purposes.
2No entries shall contain materials that are obscene, violent, phonographic, defamatory, indecent, disparaging or any content that is inappropriate. Entrants failing to comply with the above shall be held responsible fully for all legal liabilities.
3All entrants shall provide their full names on their passports when they submit their entries.
4An entrant is allowed to submit more than one piece of work but the same work cannot be submitted more than once.
5Once submitted, an entry cannot be modified or replaced.
6Winning entries are assessed and decided by the Jury Panel.
7The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any Entry.
8To ensure fairness, jurors and staff of this competition are not allowed to take part in the competition.
9All entrants acknowledge and comply with the rules and regulations of this competition once their submissions are confirmed.
10The Organiser reserves the right to to alter the contents of the competition.
11The decisions of the Organiser shall be final and conclusive shall any disputes arise.

Eligibility
1All entrants at the age of 40 or below can enter.
2Joint-creation entries are welcome.

Entry requirements
1The maximum run time is 40 seconds including end credits.
2Format requirement: 1080 x 720 pax to be submitted in .MOV or .MP4 files.
3All Entries must contain Chinese or English subtitles for non-Cantonese, non-Mandarin and non-English speaking works.

Best ScoreHK$5,000 cash with certificate
Best EditingHK$5,000 cash with certificate
Best Actor/ ActressHK$5,000 cash with certificate
Internet Community’s FavouriteHK$10,000 cash with certificate
Jury's FavouriteHK$15,000 cash with certificate

Remarks
1The Organiser reserves the right to rescale and redistribute the prizes should two or more entries share an award.
2The Organiser reserves the right to not present any award to a certain category as per advised by the Jury.

Copyrights & Sponsorship/Funding
Copyrights
1All Entrants must be the sole and exclusive owner of the copyright in any Entry. Where there is more than one Entrant to an Entry, all of the Entrants must be exclusive owners of  the copyright in the Entry. Entries should not infringe any rights of any third party.
2All Entrants should only use third party’s music excerpts or film / video segments in the Entry with the prior written consent of the relevant  third party. Entrants  must acknowledge  any  authorised  use of music excerpts or film  /  video segments  in the  Entry  in  accordance  with  the  relevant copyright laws. The Organiser shall  not  be  responsible whether directly  or  indirectly for any liability arising  whatsoever or  howsoever from  any  violation  of  any  copyright laws. Entrants agree and undertake to accept and  be responsible  for all  such liability arising there from.

Sponsorship/Subsidy
1If the Entry is sponsored / funded by any Organisation(s) / college(s), nature and details of the sponsorship / funding must be stated in the Work  Submission  Form. Entrants  must ensure that the sponsor(s) will not interfere with their creativity and production.

1Entrants shall download mobile application HKIYCMF, register an account and directly upload files or either .MOV or .MP4 format with instructions given.

Photocopies of identification documents
1All entrants of individual and joint-creation entries must  submit  photocopies  of  identification  documents  (e.g.  Passport)  for  eligibility  verification  upon  request.
2The Organiser respects the privacy of individuals. Personal data collected from all entrants will be destroyed upon on validation accord to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486). Please contact the Organiser should there are any inquiries about releasing personal data.

Entry presentation and archive
1For Entries which are to be awarded or selected for presentation in the competition, the Organiser has the right to:
 i. use excerpt of or the entire Entries for promotional purposes;
 ii. present the entry in programmes related to the competition
 iii. arrange local and overseas non-commercial presentation and curate programme on online platform in the name of Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra.
2Any use of the Entries for any commercial purposes will be subject to the conclusion of a separate agreement between the Organiser and the copyright owner of the particular Entry.
3The Organiser has the final decision on presentation arrangement.
4Unless the Entrant objects in writing, the Organiser has the perpetual right to keep one copy of each Entry for educational, archival and research purposes.
