HKCO Net Festival - Through Musicking, We Are One

Upholding the belief that music needs to be shared to be enjoyed, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra has organized a number of Chinese music festivals for the people of Hong Kong, such as the Hong Kong International Youth Chinese Music Festival in 2017-2018. Although the pandemic has forced social distancing on the community, it also unexpectedly opened an online gateway for those who love Chinese music to come together as one in resisting this scourge. To this end, ‘Through Musicking, We Are One’ is organized as part of the HKCO’s themed event - Empowering Hong Kong through Chinese Music - the HKCO Net Festival. All Chinese music professionals and enthusiasts – ensembles, individual performers, educators (including part-time instructors hired by schools) and freelance musicians – are invited to send in video clips showing them playing Chinese music. By sharing the wonderful sounds, we hope to bring gratification and peace of mind to all listeners and viewers.
