HKCO Net Festival - With Drums, We Hearten

The Hong Kong Drum Festival was held in the wake of the SARS outbreak in 2003, in encouragement of the Hong Kong people’s dauntless spirit. In the midst of the current epidemic, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra presents Empowering Hong Kong through Chinese Music - the HKCO Net Festival – ‘With Drums, We Hearten’. Percussion ensembles in Hong Kong are invited to submit clips of their performances and work together to boost morale with the beat of their drums.


Activity details and requirements:

Rules:
1. The event is only open to holders of a valid Hong Kong Identity Card.
2. Full-time employees of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, members of the selection panel, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
3. The submitted work must be a genuine performance.
4. A group may only submit one entry in each category. The submitted work must be produced specifically for this event.
5. In the interest of fairness, entries may not be modified after submission.
6. The Organizer reserves the right to make the final decision on the selection results.

Filming specifications: Any type of video recording device can be used; the performance can be conducted in any format.
Video format: MP4/MOV
Resolution: At least 1280x720 and not more than 1920x1080
File size: Less than 900Mb

The winning entries of each category will be selected by seasoned percussionists and representatives from the percussion section of the HKCO. Selected entries will each receive a nominal production fee of HK$5,000 (group of 2-8) and $8,000 (group of 9 or more). A maximum of 60 groups will be selected. The results will be announced on the HKCO website (hkco.org).
